ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: N-substituted azoles of the formula I (I) , Image where R1, R2, R3 are each hydrogen, halogen, C1-C8-alkyl, C1-C8-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl, C1-C4-haloalkoxy, C3-C10-cycloalkyl, nitro or cyano, Q is an unsubstituted or substituted azole group of the formulae IIa-IIf Image Image Image Image (IIa) (IIb) (IIc) (IId) Image Image (IIe) (IIf) R4 to R15 denoting hydrogen, halogen, C1-C8-alkyl, C1-C4-haloalkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C3-C10-cycloalkyl or aryl which is unsubstituted or mono-, di- or trisubstituted by halogen, C1-C8-alkyl, C1-C8-alkoxy, C1-C4-halo- alkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy, and X is, in the case of the azole group IIa, -CH2- or -O(CH2)n-, n being one of the integers 1, 2 or 3, or, in the case of the azole groups IIb-IIf, -OCH2-, pesticides containing compounds I as active ingredients, and a process for combating pests
