ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fire control collar is disclosed for conduits that penetrate fireproof walls or ceilings through openings. According to the invention, two stable, smoketight, fireproof coverings (9), e.g. of a ceramic material, or of metal alloys are provided having a high melting point. They are oriented parallel to or aligned with the two surfaces (11) of the respective wall or ceiling (2). The coverings seal the space between the surfaces (11) of the wall or ceiling (2) and the exterior surfaces of the conduit or conduits (4). A filling (12) of expanded material with a thermal conductivity of the same order of magnitude as concrete, e.g., expanded metal fills up the space between the two coverings (9), the conduits (4) and the surrounding wall or ceiling (2) in such a way that at least the surrounding wall or ceiling (2) and the conduits (4) are in interior contact with the filling (12). The filling (12) may comprise individual sheets (13) of expanded metal that are essentially parallel to and in contact with each other or filling particles (14) of expanded metal that are essentially round.
