- 1 - Abstract: The invention provides an improved process for the removal of volatile components, such as unreacted monomers, solvents, by-products or impurities, from polymer compositions by a rotating disc evaporation- extrusion, and an apparatus therefor. The present invention is particularly useful for the removal of the volatile components from polymer compositions con- taining 25 to 99.9 % by weight of such components, and particularly methyl methacrylate polymer compositions useful for the production of molding materials or ex- trusion plates which contain 60 % by weight or more of methyl methacrylate monomer.
