Abstract The invention provides a plastic optical fiber com- prising a core and a cladding. The core is made of a polymer comprising units of methyl methacrylate, and the cladding is made of a copolymer comprising units of vinylidene fluoride and 0.5 to 10 mole % of units of hexafluoropropene. The optical fiber has good heat resistance and flexibility and has very good adhesivity between the core and the cladding.
