ABSTRACT An apparatus 10 to measure fabric in extensibility, the apparatus 10 includes a base 11 upon which there is pivotally mounted, for rotation about a horizontal axis, an arm 13, one end of the arm 13 is provided with a clamp 18 which is vertically aligned with a further clamp 12 between which a piece of fabric 31 extends to be placed under tension by the apparatus 10. The apparatus 10 further includes a sensor 34 which detects deflection of the arm 13 to provide an indication of the extension of the piece of fabric 31.
