ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure describes a device for separating a volatile contaminant from a contaminated fluid. The device comprises a vacuum chamber having an internal space that may be at least partially evacuated, a rotating plate arrangement dis- posed within the vacuum chamber, means for introducing the con- taminated fluid onto the surface of the plate arrangement, whereby small droplets of the contaminated fluid are centri- fugally dispersed from the edge of the rotating plate arrange- ment, said droplets having sufficient residence time within the evacuated space to permit at least a portion of the contami- nant to be released, and means for coalescing the small drop- lets.
