CRYSTALLINE SILICONE-IMIDE COPOLYMERS Abstract of the Disclosure A novel crystalline silicone-imide block copolymer having relatively low melt viscosity, improved mechanical strength and solvent resistance is described together with its method of preparation. The block copolymer comprises at least one imide-disiloxane block wherein the imide portion has a symmetrical aromatic radical as its nucleus and at least one polydiorganosiloxane having at least five siloxy units. Such copolymers have particular utility as protective or conformal coatings for semiconductors, electronic devices and the like.
