- 1 - Abstract: The invention provides a sheet-form adhesive preparation for promoting tooth-movement in orthodontics comprising a layer of a pharmaceutical composition containing as the active ingredient a prostaglandin (e.g. prostaglandin E1, prostaglandin E2, and prostaglandin F2.alpha.) in admixture with one or more high molecular weight compounds, and a flexible base sheet. The invention also provides a process for the preparation thereof, and a method for promoting tooth- movement in orthodontics by applying the sheet-form adhesive preparation to the mucous membrane of the gingiva. The preparation can be kept in place for a long period of time without being dissolved in the saliva and without producing irritation or an unpleasant feeling when applied to the mucous membrane of the gingiva and hence can provide the tooth-movement activity of the active prostaglandin for a long period of time.
