PURE WATER CONDUCTIVITY SENSOR Abstract of the Disclosure A system for measuring conductivity of a high purity water sample. A multiple electrode probe is im- mersed in the sample and generates a total conductivity signal proportional to the total conductivity of the sam- ple. A temperature sensing means generates a temperature output indicative of the temperature of the sample. First compensation means responsive to the temperature output from the temperature sensing means generates a pure water correction signal corresponding to the conductivity of absolutely pure water at the temperature of the sample. A first summation means subtracts the pure water correction signal generated by the first compensation means from the total conductivity signal generated by the probe to pro- duce a net conductivity signal indicative of the conduc- tivity value of salt impurities in the sample. A second compensation means generates a salt correction signal cor- responding to the ratio between the conductivity of the salt at the measured temperature as compared with a stan- dard reference temperature. An amplifier responsive to the salt correction signal adjusts the net conductivity signal applied to its input to produce an adjusted salt conductivity output proportional to the conductivity of the salt at a standard reference temperature. Second sum- mation means adds the adjusted salt conductivity output to a fixed amplitude signal which corresponds to the conduc- tivity of absolutely pure water at the standard reference temperature, to yield a combined output signal corre- sponding to the total conductivity of the sample being measured at the standard reference temperature.
