ABSTRACT Apparatus for controlling the concentration of a slurry in a pipeline including a circular chamber with three tangential ports and an axial port. A source of fluid is coupled through a control valve to one of the tangential ports. The slurry pipeline is coupled into one of the tangential ports and out the remaining tangential port. Excess water is removed from the axial port. Electrical means are incorporated to measure the density of the slurry and control the addition or removal of water to or from the chamber respectively.
