- 13 - ABSTRACT This invention provides a process for the encapsulation of volatile liquids which can be natural or synthetic flavouring oils or perfumes in carriers, which are soluble in water. The encapsulates provided by this invention are prepared by spraying an emulsion comprising the carrier solution and the volatile liquid onto particles in a fluidised bed. The invention also provides detergent compositions and foodstuffs containing encapsulates of perfumes and flavours respectively.
