ABSTRACT A composite reducer head assembly with a reducer head having a peripheral part and a central part is at the central part provided with at least one addi- tional operative means , which may be a guide means or a machining means, and which is adapted to affect a piece of timber machined by the peri- pheral part in a different rotational and/or positional mode than the peripheral part. Side guide means displace- able in dependence of possible axial displacements of the additional means may be provided at one or two downstream levels.
