ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Sheet nails made in a metal strip and connected to each other in the strip via connecting bridges are oriented at an angle or perpendicular to the longitu- dinal direction of the strip. The sheet nails have a profiled shank and a profiled head at one end, as well as an edge, a point or several laterally spaced points at the opposite end of the shank. The shank is connec- ted to the head via a transition portion in the form of a gently curved bent portion. The head, the shank, and the bent portion have preferably a uniform cross- sectional shape. The head, the transition portion and at least a portion of the shank can also have an extra reinforcing profile in addition to the common profile in these portions.
