LaHann ABSTRACT A compound, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, having the formula: Image wherein X is Image or Image , wherein R is C3-C12 alkyl or aralkyl, branched or unbranched, unsubstituted aryl, haloaryl or C3-C22 alkenyl, branched or unbranched; wherein R1 is H, OH or OCH3, and wherein R2 is OH or H, at least one of Rl and R2 being OH or OCH3. These sulfonamides have analgesic and anti-irritant activity when administered to humans and lower animals.
