ABSTRACT An article of clothing, namely a pair of shorts or a short skirt comprises a first body portion and a second body portion to be worn as an outer member and as an inner member of slip, respectively, and a waistband portion connecting the first and second portions. The first body portion, second body portion and waistband portion comprise s one-piece knitted tube with the waistband portion disposed between and connecting the first and second body portions. The second body portion has a front portion and a rear portion and is adapted to be folded inwardly into the first body portion along the waistband portion, thereby providing a slip or liner within the first body portion when worn by the wearer. Articles of clothing according to the invention present inner slips as holders for absorbent insert pads worn by incontinent adults and effectively conceal such incontinence aids more completely than prior known such garments. Moreover, the manner of construction permits on advantageously economical continuous manufacturing process in which individual garments are produced simply by the separation of pairs from one another and a subsequent folding process.
