ABSTRACT The present invention provides 2-acyloxypropyl-amine compounds of the general formula I Image (I) wherein R1 is a straight-chained or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic radical containing up to 20 carbon atoms, R2 is a straight-chained or branched alkyl radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms, R3 and R4, which can be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms or straight-chained or branched alkyl radicals containing up to 14 carbon atoms which are optionally substituted by phenyl or R3 and R4 together form a piperidine or piperazine ring which is optionally substituted by alkyl radicals containing up to 4 carbon atoms and X is an oxygen or sulphur atom; and the pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof. The present invention also provides processes for preparing these compounds and pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The compounds inhibit protein kinase C (PKC) and the thrombooyte aggregation stimulated by diacylglycerols.
