PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation des composés (1RS, 4RS, 5RS), (1R, 4R, 5S) ou (1S, 4S, 5R) de formule I: (I) Image où Y est un hydrogène ou le reste Z d'un alcool ZOH éventuelle- ment chiral. Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir en présence d'un agent acide, le composé II: (5RS) Image soit avec un composé ZOH achiral, à faire réagir l'éther obtenu avec III: Image où R1 et R2 sont des aromatiques qui peuvent être substitués, des isopropyles ou des alcoyles tertiaires, pour obtenir I où Y=Z, et à hydrolyser, si désiré, soit avec un composé ZOH chiral optiquement actif, à séparer les éthers stéréoisimères formés, à les faire réagir avec III et à hydrolyser, si désiré, les composes I ainsi obtenus. Les composés I sont des intermédiaires dans la préparation d'acides cyclopropane carboxyliques, acides conduisant à des esters insecticides.
