ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An inhibition assay technique using a monoclonal antibody for the determination of the presence or concentration of an antigenic substance in a fluid comprising the steps: (a) contacting a sample of the fluid with a known quantity of added antigenic substance and a monoclonal antibody to the antigenic substance, and (b) measuring the inhibition of formation of a complex between the antibody and added antigenic substance by combination of said monoclonal antibody and the antigenic substance in the fluid to form a second complex.
