ABSTRACT A Polyarylene Coating Derived from a Polycyclohexadiene A process for the preparation of a polymer composition which comprises a polyarylene which process comprises treating a first composition comprising a poly- cyclohexadiene, a suitable additive and a solvent for the polycyclohexadiene to a suitable heat treatment such that at least a major portion of the cyclohexenylene rings in the polycyclohexadiene are converted into aromatic groups.
