Abstract of the Disclosure A head has an upper surface comprising a flat face arranged to receive brocading mud for applying the mud to a ceiling. The head has a plurality of openings which form voids in mud applied to the face whereby a brocading pattern is formed on the ceiling when the mud is forced up against the ceiling. The head has at least one straight side edge portion which allows it to be worked close to the edges of a ceiling in the application of the brocading mud. A mud supply board is provided having a head for holding a supply of the mud. Such head is larger in surface area than the area of the brocading tool head. The head of the brocading tool and the mud supply board have handles which are removable to provide a compact package for marketing.
