23443-360 Abstract of the Disclosure Disclosed is a process for the extraction of crude oil from an underground deposit using surfactants. Mixtures of alkyl (poly)glycosides and conventional co-solvents are used as the surfactants. The alkyl (poly)glycosides have the formula: R - O - Zn (I) (in which R is a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical, Z is a hexose or pentose unit, and n is a number on average of 1 to 10). Crude oil can be efficiently extracted even from deposits whose salinities and temperatures vary widely.
