TIRE ENVELOPE SEALING APPARATUS FOR RECAPPING TIRES Abstract of the Disclosure A method and apparatus for sealing a tire retreading envelope against a tire carcass for vulcanization of a new tread onto the carcass utilizes a rigid circular ring and a series of clamps on the ring for clamping the ring tightly onto the exterior of the tire carcass' bead with the envelope sandwiched between the ring and the bead. With a ring clamped onto each bead of the tire, air or other gases are prevented from passing when the envelope is evacuated and the tire goes through the vulcanization process. Centering pins preferably are included on the ring for engaging the bead and assuring that the ring is coaxial with the tire. .
