- 1 - Abstract: The invention relates to a small electric motor of a type comprising brushes and a commutator slidably engaging the brushes. The interior of the motor casing is filled with an atmosphere containing the vapor of at least one organic compound selected from paraffins, mono- or poly- hydric alcohols, ethers, cyclic ethers, esters, ketones, ether alcohols, ester alcohols, aminoalcohols, carboxylic acids, amides, primary, secondary and tertiary amines, imidazoles, imidazolines and monocyclic oxyterpenes. The vapor allows the motor to be stably operated and prolongs the operational life of the motor.
