Abstract Novel substituted N-tetrafluorophenyl-N'-halobenzoyl- areas of the formula Image wherein R1 is fluorine or chlorine, and R2 is hydrogen, fluorine or chlorine; processes for producing these compounds, as well as compositions containing them, for combating pests, particularly insects which infest plants and animals. The novel compounds also exhibit an action inhibiting eating in the case of insects damaging plants by eating, and these compounds have favourable ovicidal and ovolarvicidal properties.
