SURFACE COATING PROCESS ABSTRACT A process for coating a substrate with a film comprising an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated compound, .alpha.,.beta.,.gamma.-unsaturated ether activator compound, an effective amount of a free radical polymerization initiator, and, optionally, a catalytic amount of metal drier. The components are applied to the sub- strate and the coated substrate is then placed in an atmosphere substantially free of oxygen until the coating has cured to a substantially tack-free con- dition.
