ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to the recovery of rhenium values from tertiary phosphine oxide-rhenium complexes resulting from the leaching of rhenium out of spent hydrocarbon reforming catalysts. The rhenium is recovered by contacting the complex with an aqueous solution of an ammonium salt, typically ammonium chloride.
