ABSTRACT Steam Ironing Apparatus Steam ironing apparatus comprises a steam iron (1), the body (2) of which is formed with a steam generating evaporation chamber (3) communicating with a plurality of through holes (4) formed in the plate (5) of the iron (1). A unit for supplying water to the steam generating chamber (3) includes a water reservoir (9) structurally independent of the iron (1), a duct (11) for supplying water from the reservoir (9) to the evaporation chamber (3) and a cut-off valve (13) carried by the iron (1) and operable by a manual control (14) located on the hand-grip (15) of the iron (1) to control the supply of water through the duct (11) to the steam generating chamber (3).
