ABSTRACT A method is disclosed for the preparation of a molecular sieving metallosillicate wherein an aqueous dispersion of colloidal particles comprising contiguous mixtures of silica and at least one oxide of a transition metal is mixed with an effective amount of a mineralizing agent and/or synthesis directing agent to form a gel. The formed gel is maintained at a temperature of about 80°C to about 300°C for a period of time effective to provide the desired molecular sieving metallosillicate.
