67616-130 ALPHA-ACYLOXYKETONE DERIVATIVES Abstract of the Disclosure Disclosed are alpha-acyloxyketone derivatives of the formula: Image (I) (wherein R1 is a lower aliphatic acyl group and R2 is a lower alkyl group) whiah are useful as intermediates for production of N-cyano-N'-methyl-N''-[2-{(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)-methylthio} ethyl] guanidine (common name: Cimetidine), and Cimetidine- related compounds which have an action of controlling secretion of gastric acid and are useful as a drug for treating gastric ulcer.
