POLYMERIC SUPPORTED EXTRACTANTS FOR THE REMOVAL OF METAL VALUES AND ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS Abstract of the Disclosure Polymeric supported extractants, their use and preparation are disclosed. Said extractants comprise macroreticular resins containing phosphorus based extract- ant compounds encapsulated therein. The extractants are useful for the extraction of mineral values and organic compounds from aqueous solutions and may be prepared by the suspension polymerization of a monovinylidine compound and a polyvinylidine compound in a solution of the phosphorus- based extractant and a short chain (C4 to C10) alkanol.
