ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure herein describes a protective garment for the user of a chain saw; the garment includes at least a portion forming pad consisting of a plurality of superposed layers of canvas sheets, at least one of which is loosely attached to the pad so that, when the chain of the saw accidentally touches the garment, the said loose layer is readily pulled off to jam and stop the rotation of the saw chain.
