ABSTRACT An apparatus is provided for sterilizing an aqueous medium. The medium is past along a path where it is subjected to ultraviolet rays by a plurality of annular permanent magnets. The aqueous medium is also subjected along the path to a magnetic field. This magnetic field is generated by a plurality of magnets having poles arranged in opposite directions to one another.
