Page 1 ABSTRACT In the known saw-type tree falling machines the saws turn in a curcular motion. In my invention the saw blades are hydraulically pulled to the centre of the tree thus cutting on both sides simualtneously in one motion. (1) This invention relates to a saw-type tree falling machine. (2) It is common in tree falling machines for the cutting device to turn in a circular motion thus requiring an extra power source resulting in high manufacturing and maintenance costs. (3) My invention overcomes the high costs associated with other tree falling saws due to it's simple design and because it operates on the existing hydraulic systems of the carrier machine. (4) In the drawings Figures 1 through 8 illustrate the various parts comprising the saw-type tree falling machine . Figure 1 is a top view of the machine with the cutting devices in the open position. Left said top plate removed. Figure 2 shows a top view of the machine with the cutting devices in the closed position. Figure 3 shows the top and end view of the female guiding blade. Figure 4 shows the top view of the right side cutting device. Figure 5 is the end view of ? of the frame, the guiding blade, cutting device and the top plate bolted together. Figure 6 shows the top view of the frame. Figure 7 shows the top end side view of the cutting teeth. Figure 8 shows the top view of the top right plate. (5) In my invention the falling maching is mounted to the carrier machine, by the U-Shaped frame shown in part #1 figures 1 and 2 and separately in figure 6. The female guiding plates Figure 1 and Figure 2, parts #2 are bolted, one on each side of the U-Frame. The top and end views of the right side female guide is shown separately in figure 3 part #2. The guiding groove is shown by #10. The left side guide is a mirror reflection of the right side guide. The right side cutting device is shown separately in Figure 4 part #3. Part #8 in Figure 4 is the male guiding bar. Part #9 in Figure 4 is the hydraulic cyclinder mounting pin. Part #5 in Figure 4 are the cutting teeth also shown separately in Figure 7, Part #5.
