ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to a method for the preparation of 1,8-dihydroxy-10-acyl-9-anthrone, especially for use in the treatment of psoriasis, having the formula Image where R is an alkyl group having 2-4 carbon atoms, by using as the initial material 1,8-dihydroxy-9-anthrone and an acid chloride having the formula RCOC1, where R represents the same as above. In accordance with the invention, harmful benzene can be replaced with, for example toluene; this replacing is possible because pyridine is replaced with 2,6-dimethyl pyridine.
