Abstract A compound having the general formula Image wherein R1 is alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms; R2 is alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms, allyl, propargyl or haloalkenyl; and A is selected from the group consisting of Image wherein R3 is -SO2R6 group, Image group or Image group; R4 is hydrogen, alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms; phenyl or halophenyl; R5 is alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms; X is oxygen or sulfur; and n is 0 or 1; wherein R6 is alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, haloalkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms or propenyl; R7 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms; R9 is hydrogen, alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, propenyl or methoxy; R9 is hydrogen, alkyl having 1-8 carbon atoms, haloalkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms, alkoxy having 1-6 carbon atoms, propenyl or phenyl substituted with methyl; and Y and Z are oxygen or sulfur; and a metal salt or a quaternary ammonium salt of a compound defined herein above. The compound is useful as a herbicide.
