ABSTRACT. "Cigarette transfer device" A device for transferring cigarette pieces (9) from a twin rod (7,8) cigarette-making machine (3) to a filter fitting machine (5), in which the said ci- garette pieces (9) are transferred two at a time, one for each of the two rods (7,8) from a horizontal output bed (2) of the cigarette-making machine (3) to the top of an input drum (4) of the filter fitting machine (5) the axis of which is parallel to the rods (7,8) 9 by means of a plurality of take-up heads (52) which move about an axis perpendicular to the plane (7) of the rods, maintaining themselves par- allel thereto and moving with a speed which is variable between a maximum at take-up from the said bed (2) and a minimum at release on the summit of the said input drum (4).
