Abstract of Disclosure Nitrogen- and oxygen-containing compositions pre- pared by reacting, in the presence of an acid catalyst, ~ A) at least one aliphatic hydroxy compound of the formula R1 (OH)x wherein R1 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon-based radical and x is an integer which is at least 1, with ~ B) at least one (tertiary amino) alkanol useful as lubricant and fuel additives. Also disclosed are concen- trates of these compositions and lubricants and fuels con taining these compositions.
