0475p Kraus Case 1 PRIMER COATING FOR CYCLOOLEFIN POLYMER ARTICLES Abstract of the Disclosure Disclosed is a primer coating for cycloolefin polymer articles comprising an alkyd resin, a urea-formaldehyde resin, at least one 2-4 carbon alkanol, a nonleafing aluminum pigment and an acid catalyst. A cellulose ester and a solvent for the cellulose ester may also be included. The primer coating pre- vents migration of antioxidant from the cycloolefin polymer into a subsequently applied topcoat.
