- 12 - Abstract Of The Disclosure A mold apparatus has gaps formed at the corners formed by the junctions of the model and model plate and around the edges of the model plate near the molding frame. The gaps conduct gas from the mold interior, eliminating back-pressure and trapped gas pockets in the mold, facilitating formation of edge and corner sharpness of the mold and the ultimate casting. The gaps can be connected to channels permitting venting to the atmos- phere or the creation of special pressure change condi- tions within the mold volume.
