ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A simplified computerized servo drive for an AC motor is disclosed which comprises a central processing unit having a data input from a main computer, a data output connected to linear amplifiers and a feedback input. The central processing unit produces various digital signals generally corresponding to sine waves. These signals are converted to an analogue signal and amplified by a linear amplifier with the resulting signal used to power an AC motor. Speed and torque are adjusted in accordance with the main computer input and the feed. The signals produced can be varied in phase amplitude and frequency for varying the motor power. Controlled acceleration and deceleration reduces peak current loads of the motor. Feedback information to the central processing unit is supplied from prerecorded magnetic media associated with the drive of the motor and a suitable means for sensing the same.
