11 ABSTRACT: A device for inserting and ejecting a magnetic tape cassette (10) into a magnetic-tape-cassette apparatus comprises a cassette holder (7) and a cassette driver (9) which is movably guided in the holder. The cassette driver (9) is coupled to a lever (11) which is pivotable about a pivoting spindle (12) and which is coupled to a movable actuating rod (14) which carries a pin (21) which makes a relative movement along a control edge (20) on the lever during the insertion of the cassette. Between the actuating rod (14) and the lever (11) a compression spring (23) is arranged, which after the movement of the pin relative to a part (20a) of the control edge pivots the lever further and moves the cassette inside the holder (7). The control edge (20) and the stop edge (19) are wall por- tions of a slot (8) in the lever (11). When the actuating rod (14) is actuated the point of attachment (23a) of the spring (23) on the lever (11) moves through a plane (32) containing the pivoting spindle (12) and the point of attachment (23b) on the actuating rod (14) after which under the influence of the spring (23) the pin (21) makes a relative movement along the step edge (19) during the pivotal movement of the lever (11), thereby ejecting the cassette (10).
