3,4-Dihydro-2H-benzo[b]pyrans of the formula I Image I are described, in which R1 is H, OH, (C1-C2)-alkoxy, (C1-C2)-alkyl or NR4R5, R4 and R5 being identical or different and representing H, (C1-C2)-alkyl or (C1-C3)-alkylcarbonyl, R2 and R3 are identical or different and are alkyl having 1 - 4 carbon atoms, Ar is an aromatic or heteroaromatic system which is unsub- stituted or substituted, n is 1 or 2 and X is a (CH2)r chain which can be interrupted by a hetero- atom O, S or NR6, R6 being H or (C1-C4)-alkyl and r being one of the numbers 2, 3, 4 or 5. Processes for the preparation of these compounds, their use and pharmaceutical products for treating hypertension, angina pectoris or cardiac insufficiency are also described.
