COAL-OIL-WATER FUEL MIXTURE ABSTRACT A coal-oil-water fuel mixture is stabilized by adding thereto an effective amount of a suitable water-soluble, hydrophilic macromolecular agent, acting in many cases as a water thickening agent increasing the viscosity of the mixture. Suitable such agents include high molecular weight synthetic polyamides, proteins, peptides and hydroxyalkyl polysaccharides. Inorganic salts having high ionic activity coefficients, such as inorganic calcium salts, have also been found to be effective in the stabilization of such a fuel mixture.
