A filter-device and a filter-appliance from such filter devices. A B S T R A C T. A description is given of a filter-device for filtering particles from a gaseous medium, the said device comprising a substrate (22) and a filter-bed provided thereon. The filter-bed is a filter-fluid (36) which wets the said substrate. At least one such filter-device (20) is arranged to form a filter-appliance (10) in a housing (12). The said housing has an inlet-aperture (14) and an outlet-aperture (16) for the medium to be filtered. In order to ensure that the gas-permeable substrate (22) in the at least one filter-device (20) of the filter-appliance (10) is adequately wetted by the filter-fluid (36), the housing (12) contains a spraying device (44) having a fluid connection with the filter-devices (20), the said spray- device having a fluid connection with a collecting chamber (38) for the said filter- fluid. For the purpose of circulating the filter-fluid between the collecting chamber and the spraying device, use is made of a pump (47). (Fig. 1).
