69109-5 ABSTRACT This geoelectrical method determines main permeabilities, fracture set permeabilities, fracture set porosities and fracture/ vuggy porosities for layers of rock masses or structures which are filled with liquid or gas. The method can be used from the surface of the ground and through drilling. Technical implementation is effected by means of a plurality of linear electrical soundings of differing directions from one point. Analysis provides the sequence of geoelectrical layers and the resistivity anisotropies of the layers. By further processing of the anisotropy parameters of a layer, one obtains directionally dependent specific rock body resistivities and the direction of the main permeability. The layer-specific hydraulic values are calculated according to formulae in which the initial data specific resistivity of the rock, specific resistivity of the rock body, specific liquid resistivity, coefficients, kinematic viscosities and the flow factors are included. The main areas of application for the procedure are in locating ground water, dam construction, tunnel construction (rock engineering), building renovation, foundation analysis, testing construction, materials, monitoring grouting shields, grouting layers, wall and retainer construction, environmental protection (planned waste disposal sites and old hazards), prospecting for geothermal sources, gas and mineral water, and in the exploration for hydrocarbons.
