Abstract Process for preparation of pyridimidinones of the general formula Image (I) wherein A and B together with both carbon atoms to which they are attached, represent an optionally substituted phenyl ring or a pyridine ring, D represents an alkylene or hydroxyalkylene group, R3 and R5 represent each a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R4 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkoxy group, and R6 represents an alkyl group, an alkylene or hydroxy- alkylene group optionally substituted on the ter- minal carbon atom by an optionally substituted phenyl or phenoxy group, and the salts thereof, showing valuable pharmacological properties, especially a hypotensive, antiarrhythmic and B- receptor blocking activity.
