PROCESS FOR CONVERTING OLEFINS TO HIGH VISCOSITY INDEX LUBRICANTS USING LARGE CRYSTAL ZEOLITES Abstract An improved process for the production of high viscosity lubricating oils obtained by reacting olefins over a ZSM-5 type catalyst at elevated temperatures and pressures in order to obtain a liquid product and thereafter recovering a lubricating oil fraction from the liquid product is disclosed. The improvement resides in the use of a large crystal ZSM-5 type catalyst which has been found to enhance the viscosity index of the lubricating oils produced from olefins.
