DUMMY BAR DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING EQUIPMENTS ABSTRACT In place of the heretofore used long dummy bar for continuous casting equipments extending from a mould up to cast piece drawing rolls, a short dummy bar body having such cross-section configuration and area that can be inserted from the above into a continuous casting mould, is employed in combination with a rotary arm that has one end coupled to an output shaft of a driving device disposed at an appropriate position on a frame of a continuous casting equipment so as to be rotationally driven by the driving device, and a clamping arm pivotably supported from a bracket on the rotary arm so as to be rotated about the pivot point by drive means, whereby the short dummy bar body can be drawn along an arcuated path as clamped between the rotary arm and the clamping arm and can be released from these arms when it has reached drawing rolls.
