POLYDIMETHYLSILOXANES HAVING IMPROVED THERMAL STABILITY Abstract of the Disclosure Silicone compositions having improved thermal oxidative stability are disclosed. The compositions contain iron acetylacetonate, nickel acetylacetonate, cerium acetylacetonate, alpha,omega-bis(trimethylsiloxy)polydi- methylsiloxanes, and optionally, a carboxylic acid. The compositions show greatly increased time to gellation at temperatures of, e.g. 275°C. The silicone compositions of the invention are useful in heat transfer, as fiber lubricants, and as high temperature lubricants.
