ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A method for preparing metallic acid-esters useful as catalysts, finishing agents or bonding agents, in which titanium, zirconium or hafnium are present as metal atoms. The method is characterized in that halides of these metals are caused to react with organosilane-esters, to produce the corresponding metallic partial esters. If alkyl-esters are used as organosilane esters, it is possible to obtain metallic-acid-partial-esters with three ester- groups. If organosilanearyl-esters are used, complete esterification of the metal halides may even be achieved. According to the invention, the metallic-acid-partial-esters are produced in very pure form and may be selectively separated in a very simple manner from the mixture obtained. The metallic-acid-alkyl-esters that are so obtained, may be very easily esterified, in a manner known per se, to produce the corresponding metallic-acid-tetraalkyl-ester in very pure form.
